Our Mission

Our mission is to promote an inclusive community by creating a nurturing space for children and families to learn and discuss contemporary issues through children’s literature.

We have developed a curriculum of carefully chosen books, activities, and crafts for young children. Our curriculum includes detailed discussion questions and conversation prompts for adults because so many adults avoid discussing these important issues for fear of “getting it wrong.”

Some of our topics include racial equity, family structures, immigration, LGBTQ people, various holiday celebrations, and many more. Research suggests prejudices may form at a much earlier age than previously thought, sometimes as young as three years old. Our primary goal is to educate ourselves and our children to build stronger and safer communities.

We know that the stories we hear in childhood have the power to revolutionize our lives.
